Gaspé, June 22, 2026 – From June 19 to 21, Percé hosted the 11th edition of the Gaspesia 100 Ultra Trail, organized by Gaspesia Events. Despite some of the most challenging weather conditions in the event’s history, more than 1,300 runners from 11 countries and territories took on the trails of the Greater Percé region.
Heavy rain, persistent fog, strong winds, and temperatures well below seasonal averages accompanied participants throughout the weekend. While the 10th edition enjoyed ideal conditions, this first year of the event’s new decade served as a reminder of both the ruggedness and the wild beauty of the Gaspé Peninsula.
The event also generated significant tourism benefits for the region thanks to the collaboration of numerous partners, volunteers, municipalities, and local organizations that contributed to the success of this major celebration of trail running in Quebec.
A Historic Three-Peat for Beauce Runner Yannick Bernard
This year’s premier 100-mile race featured 32 athletes at the starting line. True to its reputation as one of the most demanding races in the country, only eight participants successfully crossed the finish line, maintaining an impressive completion rate of approximately 25%.
Yannick Bernard of Saint-Georges once again demonstrated his mastery of the Gaspé trails by claiming his third victory in the distance, finishing in 23:16:06 and joining French runner Thomas Duhamel in the prestigious club of three-time race champions.
In the women’s division, Alexandra Ostaszewski of Calgary delivered an inspiring performance, becoming the only female participant to complete the 160-kilometre course, with a finishing time of 32:23:31. Notably, the race featured a record seven women at the starting line.
Elite Performances in the Ultra Distances
In the 110 km race, Thea Funk (St. John’s) and Julien Dauplais (France) dominated the field, posting times of 21:10:57 and 15:42:02 respectively.
The 85 km event crowned Julie-Anne Bergeron (Quebec City) as the women’s champion in 12:44:09, while Acadian runner Rémi Poitras (Saint-Omer) claimed the men’s title in 10:01:36.
In the 55 km race, Jeanne Soulières (Montreal) earned a convincing victory in 6:46:02, while Cody Cooper (Saint John) recorded the fastest men’s time at 5:51:23.
Trans-Percé: Three Days of Racing in the Rain
Held over three days of competition, the Trans-Percé events provided participants with their share of challenges as they navigated waterlogged trails and particularly demanding conditions.
In the Trans-Percé 100 km, Viviane Beaulieu-Amirault (Shefford) dominated the women’s competition with a cumulative time of 9:10:35, while Alexandre Gendron (Stoneham-et-Tewkesbury) claimed the men’s title in 8:35:46.
In the Trans-Percé 75 km, Carole Delmaire (Montreal) captured the women’s crown with a time of 8:40:05, while Victor Larocque (Quebec City) posted the fastest men’s performance in 7:06:05.
In the Trans-Percé 50 km, Rose Vigneault (Sherbrooke) stood out with an overall time of 5:15:43, while Xavier Zwiebel (Quebec City) topped the men’s standings in 4:56:28.
Finally, in the Trans-Percé 25 km, Zoé Lajeunesse (Quebec City) and Olivier Proulx (Pabos Mills) earned top honours with times of 1:41:43 and 1:10:34 respectively.

Other Results
In the 35 km race, the inseparable duo of Catherine Cormier and David Cormier (New Richmond) once again demonstrated their talent on the Gaspé trails by winning their respective categories with the exact same finishing time of 2:51:12.
Presented by Pit Caribou, the popular 25 km event was won by Fanny Hotton-Daignault (Quebec City) in 3:19:14 and Cyril Dujardin (Montreal) in 2:30:20.
In the 15 km race, Gabrielle Desharnais Préfontaine (Carleton-sur-Mer) claimed the women’s title in 1:44:22, while Éric Lévesque (Matane) recorded the fastest men’s time with a performance of 1:29:06.
Finally, the introductory 5 km event crowned Justine Huard (Chandler) and Adam Legault (Rimouski), who crossed the finish line in 44:36 and 40:42 respectively.
Island Trail Presented on the Mainland
Due to exceptional weather and marine conditions, the courses originally planned on Bonaventure Island were relocated to the mainland to ensure participant safety while preserving the race experience.
In the 13 km event, Andrée-Anne Cloutier (Cap-aux-Renards) claimed the women’s title in 1:04:24, while Anthony Audet (Maria) posted the fastest men’s time in 1:03:24.
In the 7 km race, Roxanne Noël (Saint-Hyacinthe) dominated the women’s competition in 48:07, while Charles-Olivier Mercier (Saint-Augustin) earned the men’s victory with a time of 42:26.
