Gaspé, September 23, 2025 – On September 19, 20 and 21, Événements Gaspesia welcomed more than 615 runners for the third edition of the Ultra Trail Forillon Desjardins. This trail running event, open to both young and old, took place in the heart of Forillon National Park, offering participants a unique immersion in the spectacular landscapes of the Gaspé Peninsula.

 

For this new edition, athletes from Quebec, Canada, France, Brazil, Belgium and the United States took part in order to enjoy a sporting and human experience that matched the region’s autumn colors.

 

Women shine in the main event: the 100 miles

The flagship 100-mile race saw Suzie Lemay-Boucher (Quebec) take the win with an impressive time of 31 h 47 min 55 s. She was followed by Tanya Desrivières (Ste-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier) in 33 h 36 min 52 s and Élodie Thomas (St-Omer) in 33 h 55 min 25 s.

Notably, five of the six registered women crossed the finish line, representing one of the highest female finisher rates in the history of Événements Gaspesia.

On the men’s side, French runner Simon Frenillot made his mark by setting a new course record with a time of 23 h 48 min 17 s. He finished ahead of Quebecers Simon Rousseau (Montreal) in 27 h 52 min 07 s and Jean-François Emond (Quebec City) in 27 h 52 min 14 s. Worth noting: only 7 of the 17 male participants managed to complete this extreme challenge.

Other notable results

110 km: victory for Marie-Pier Dion (Stoneham-et-Tewkesbury) in 17 h 09 min 14 s, and David Cormier (New Richmond), winner of the 55 km in 2024, in 13 h 32 min

55 km: win for Valérie Thibault (Gaspé) in 7 h 13 min, and Emmanuel Joncas (Rimouski), who set a new course record with 5 h 24 min

45 km: victory for Karine Lizotte (Sept-Îles) in 5 h 22 min, and Jérémy Croteau (Newport) in 4 h 12 min

25 km: Catherine Caron-Côté (Bromont) in 3 h 01 min and Lucas Geffard (Montreal) in 2 h 49 min took the top step of the podium.
