Now a must in the world of Canadian trail running, the Gaspesia Race Series is proud to held a new edition of the Ultra Trail Gaspesia 100 (UTG100), a unique trail running experience between the shoreline and mountain ranges of the Gaspésie!  

A solo experience…

Presented in partnership with the Town of Percé and the parc national de l’Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé, the Ultra Trail Gaspesia 100 is a partial autonomous 100 mile endurance race. The UTG100 also offers ultra running courses of 100 and 50 km in addition to 1-12-25 and 35 km paths that will allow all runners to unique athletic experience in an exceptional mountainous region of Percé and unique island trail on parc national de l’Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé! Two 3 three days stage race, the Trans-Percé with 100 km and a 50 km, are also at the event program!

Or a team experience…

Our 160 and 100 kilometers races are also open to teams relay of 2 to 6 people. The teams are free to plan their relays according to the tastes, skills and calibers of the team members, respecting the places where the relays are allowed. Teams may nominate only one runner at a time on the trails. The team class has only three categories; men, women and mixed, regardless of the number of team members!

The starting point of the UTG100 will take place in Percé, the tourist capital of the Gaspésie, near the world renowned Percé Rock.  The route will provide mainly single track trails all leading up to the point with the most spectacular view of the area.  Participants will discover landscapes featuring Percé Rock, Bonaventure Island, the Emerald River, Anse-à-Beaufils River and obviously, the Gulf of St.-Lawrence.

ITRA & UTMB QUALIFYING RACES

As a member of the International Trail Runner Association (ITRA), Ultra Trail Gaspesia 100 award ITRA points to their «ultra» races finishers who want to be qualifying to the Ultra Trail du Mont-Blanc and the ITRA world standing. The points awarded are as follows:

  • 100 miles: 5 points
  • 106 km: 4 pts
  • Trans-Percé 100: 4 pts
  • 53 km: 2 pts
  • 35 km: 2 pts
  • Trans-Percé 50; 1 pt
  • 25 km: 1 pt

Finisher of these races are automatically qualified for the The North Face Lavaredo Ultra Trail and the Trail Verbier Saint Bernard – X-Alpine.

5 pm to 8 pm – Registration kit pickup ( miles + also possible for all distances)

7:00 pm –  Pre-event meeting online on Facebook Gaspesia 100Youtube Gaspesia Race Series (mandatory for 100 miles, 100 km & TP100 participants).

Friday, June 18, 2021

Location: Centre communautaire l’Oasis de Percé

10 am to 2:30 pm – Registration kit pickup (Island trails, TP50 et TP100 ONLY)

3 pm to 7 pm – Mandatory material verification, registration kit pickup, and drop bag delivery (Mandatory for 100 mi, 100 km, 50 km)

3 pm – Meet on the wharf. All aboard for the Parc national de l’Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé (Island Trails 7&12, TP50 #1 & TP100 #1)

4 pm – Island races start at Parc national de l’Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé

  • 7 km Group 1 & TP50#1 – 4 pm
  • 7 km Group 2 & TP50#1 – 4:05 pm
  • 7 km Group 3 & TP50#1 – 4:10 pm
  • 12 km Group 1 & TP100#1 – 4:15 pm
  • 12 km Group 2 & TP100#1 – 4:20 pm

The first three male and female runners of each race wil be invited to stay on the island for the podium finish picture. All the other runners will be progressively invited to leave the island.
