A virtual version of the Ultra Trail Gaspesia 100 to promote the Gaspésie!

Événements Gaspesia is pleased to launch the #gaspesia100naak virtual challenge in partnership with Näak, Tourisme Gaspésie, Gaspésie Gourmande and the Pit Caribou Microbrewery, from May 23rd to June 21st!

Participants in this virtual Gaspesian challenge will have to travel 100 miles (160km) just like the Ultra Trail Gaspesia 100, which had to be cancelled earlier in April. However, rather than completing the challenge in 30 hours, 30 days will be allowed to cover the mythical distance, making it accessible for runners and walkers alike! Each week, participants will have to register at least 40 km to stay in the “race”, which will be tracked on the Strava sports social media.

When the challenge is available, participants will be invited to share one photo per week from their challenge related to the Gaspésie or from a souvenir/gaspesian travel dream with the official hashtags #gaspesia100naak and #gaspesie on social media. They will also be invited to consume a Gaspésie food product or food inspired by the Gaspésie during the challenge period to add to the Gaspesian dimension of the virtual meeting!

 

Great participation prizes

Upon registration, participants will receive various gifts from the event’s partners applicable to online purchases.

Each week, participants who have completed 40 km will have a chance to win in the draw:

– A $50 Gaspesia Évènements gift certificate

– A box of NAAK products

– A gourmet case from Gaspesie Gourmande (Canada only)

– A $30 gift certificate on the Pit Caribou online store

 

Each completed week of the challenge will also give participants a chance to win the grand prize presented by Tourisme Gaspésie: a “Tour de la Gaspésie VIP for two”. This $2,000 in value prize includes:

– 5 nights accommodation on the Tour de la Gaspésie

– 2 nights in a cottage at Camp de Base Coin du Banc during the Gaspesia Ultra Trail 100 2021

30 days, 30 ambassadors

Because the ambassadors cannot be at the Great Gaspesian Trail Running Festival in June due to its cancellation, Événements Gaspesia has instead selected 30 ambassadors among its most enthusiastic participants during the first four editions. These ambassadors will contribute to the promotion of the challenge and the Gaspésie throughout the duration of the challenge by their honorable participation.
